Straw
That hat looks identical to those sold by Sunbody out of Houston, TX. The Guatemalan Palm leaves, tag and sweat band are all identical. I love the way you can shape them when wet. Nice hat.
Raining today
Today I had some work to do in the woods. Unfortunately it was also raining all day. So my hat for the day was my Sunbody 3 inch straw hat. I love the way that it stiffens up in the rain and then holds the shape and softens as it dries. Great hat for the outdoors.
Summer hat
I have found myself in the same predicament while choosing a new hat for this summer. Every year we take a massive summer road trip and camp along the way. Typically we take up to 8 weeks and travel across country visiting National Parks along the way. This year we will leave...
Panama Bob Montecristi Fino
Here is my new Panama Bob Montecristi Fino. I ordered it in mid November and received it the first week of February. I special ordered the hat with a bit smaller brim, 2.5 inches. The wait was difficult at the time but now is forgotten and worth it. I wear this...

Wearing your hat inside
For me depends on where inside I am. I usually leave my hat on in a store or other public place if I have no where to place my hat. In a home, office, workplace or theater I almost always remove my hat.
Perhaps an Akubra, Panama exchange program between the US and Australia? It might take some work to find a fair hat exchange rate. Hmmmm I wonder about hat inflation.
Sad Panamas
I feel sad for the Panama Canal forum. It seems a little neglected during the cooler months. Don't fret Canal I hope to keep you company while the temperatures are low. Besides, it is just warming up in the Southern Hemisphere!
Thank you for the reply and the heading to the correct thread. After reading some entries it seems like a nice project for an ebay beater first. Thank you again.
Trimming a raw brim
Has anyone had experience trimming a raw fur felt brim to a shorter length? I've seen video of it done with a circular cutter. Although a hat shop could do this has anyone tried to do it at home?
