Sorry but that is a stupid idea. The wax would ruin the jacket as every time you wore it, it would destroy the neck of your shirt. Barbour use cord collars for this reason. I have a wax peacoat type jacket I wear going to work . I must wear a scarf or it makes me look like a tramp. The wax does...
hi dave,
in fairness to eastman, you have to make some allowances for the fact that sheepskin is a natural product and there will be some inconsistencies in its quality. the problem you describe about the cuffs is a fault/feature of the design. Irvins have long arms so the inner cuffs rub on...
you could try shrinking them down i did it with a cooper g-1 and an aero b-3 and it worked perfectly.
I soaked the bodies, leaving the arms dry as they were ok and then blasted the jackets in a dryer on hot. i took them out every 10 mins or so and tried them on and repeated until i was happy...

This site in french has some excellent pictures of the what price glory b-3.
As an owner of an aero b-3 i think it looks excellent. The shoulder tabs are about twice as long as they should be but a scalpel and ruler could easily fix that.
(I opened it up using google chrome and it translated it...
no offence but having a label that says b-3 on it is meaningless.
if the op wants a jacet like his grandad wore then yours is not the jacket for him.
for starters it needs to look like this

if he does not want to spent that kind...
everywhere.
you can find this design in every mall / high street leather shop in the universe. despite the labels they are not b3's and dont come in sizes that fit real people. eg the japanese guy a few posts back.
