During the 30s and 40s many a Hollywood star first made their presense known not by a leading part in a major motion picture, but by making the cover of one of the dozens of movie fan magazines. Stars such as Harlow and Lake were actually groomed for stardom by the studios using glamourous photos to draw the attention of the movie going public to their creations before they actually had a starring role.
Further, many of the great stars are best recalled from studio still photos of them rather than scenes from any of their films.
Out of curiousity, what stars are best recalled by the group from a studio still rather than any particular scene in a film?
Harlow on the Polar Bear rug certainly comes to mind.
Any thoughts.
