    Best Boot Cut Jean

Wrangler, Cinch, etc. There once was a long discussion regarding this same subject here at the Lounge, but it's been a great while ago. Wrangler 13MWZ work great, Cinch is good style-wise, but both companies are doing more relaxed and "vintage" styles and fabrics now. Remember that you want a...

    Stetson Open Road Straw?

I purchased one a couple of years ago. Fits fine, but I noticed that the crown is a bit taller than my felt ORs.

Brown OR Welcome to the Lounge DougC. I'm interested in the brown OR that Paris Hatters has made for them that you had mentioned before. How "light brown" is the color? I'd sure like to find an OR in like a medium brown. I have one OR that is a pale tan. I also have a black OR and a gray...

Buckaroos Working cowboys in the high desert country (Nevada, Western Oregon and Washington state) do wear their jeans inside of their boots. These are very tall-shafted boots (16-17 inch shafts) that can be very colorful. They're known as buckaroos. They're worn with chaps known as chinks...

Can straw hats be stretched? Do they stretch out over time?

I purchased a Mexican palm Resistol from a western store out in West Texas a couple of years ago. It was a bit tight, so the saleman spritzed the sweatband with some water, I put it on and it stretched the little bit that was needed. Fall came along and it was put away when the felt hats came...

    Stetson "Shady Oak"

Thanks Thanks Jimmy for repeating the Shady Oak tutorial. It's always nice to review the material. Does the Shady Oak produced today have the liner that's seen in your example?

Stretching a hat - advice please....

Hat Jack There's a stretcher on the market called a Hat-Jack. I've used it for minor corrections. Only one size is recommended, i.e. 7 1/8 up to 7 1/4. Any more can cause distortions to the crown and possibly damage the sweatband. This has been discussed in earlier threads here at the Lounge.

    Stretching straw?

Be careful As Duggap said, if you can get past the sweatband. My daughters in West Texas bought me a new Resistol mexican palm cowboy hat and shipped it to me in PA. It was off by a size. It was a 7 1/8, I wear 7 1/4. Using a lot of steam and a Hat-Jack I managed to get up to a 7 1/4. It...

Wish they were closer to my size. Would love that Resistol cowboy hat, but afraid to try to stretch it up two sizes (7 1/4). Good luck with your sale as well as off at school. Where are you off to?

None Orvil, My San Antonio is a dead ringer for my two Stetson ORs, crown height/brim width are exact, but they are all different colors. I haven't heard of the "Dalworth", though I know Resistol made a "Fort Worth". In your photo the hat appears to be a light to medium brown, not what I'd...
