Received an e-mail from the Cockpit USA that said this was a new product for them. It's a good looking coat. A little pricey for me, but I wouldn't mind having it. This coat always reminds me of the Maintenance Officer from the movie 'Men of the Fighting Lady.' He wore one and I always...
'Never in the field of human conflict has so much been owed by so many to so few' I guess there is a £50,000 cap on that statement.

I toured the San Diego Air & Space Museum today and they have a G-1 on display that has signatures from [then] surviving Flying Tigers members. It was signed at their reunion in Scottsdale, AZ 1993.
This is how these aircraft are meant to be seen.

Unbroken finally made into a movie
I just hope the movie does not stray from the book too much. The book is phenomenal.

The Naval War College just unveiled a new online publication - the 4,000-page "Gray Book" collection of Fleet Adm. Chester Nimitz communications that started in the wake of the Pearl Harbor attack and ran right up until the closing days of the war...
I am looking for some information on VF(N)-76. They were a night fighter squadron that flew F-6F Hellcats. I haven't really been able to find much on the internet other than they existed and what ships they flew off of during the war. What I am looking for is, first, the name of the squadron...
I’m a bit disappointed in how inaccurate the uniforms are. They do such a great job at telling the story, but the reenactments are awful. The episode I was watching tonight showed AAF with a USMC garrison cover on and it was cocked so far off to the side it was ridiculous, in fact most of the...
Timing is everything. I just happened upon the Commemorative Air Force hangar at an airport in Olathe, KS today. I was also fortunate that one of the members was there and gave me a tour. It was great to say the least. He showed me some of the items they have on display that were donated by...
I have recently rediscovered this great show after finding the DVDs on sale at Target. In the series the main character, Fraser, wears what looks to be an old police issued leather jacket. I have tried to look for it everywhere on the net but the only thing that I can find is from an old E-bay...
Just watched this classic movie and I thought it was a great look at the 1950's Cold War Air Force. The story line is a little cheesy, but the aerial scenes make up for it. It was filmed in 1957 when the B-52 was new and I can’t believe they are still flying it today.
I purchase the DVD...
I just returned from watching the movie Red Tails. I thought it was actually pretty good. The Aerial scenes were well done, even if most of them were CGI. I would recommend people to go see it. Anyone else seen it and have some feedback?
This is LT Theodore Ellyson, the first Naval Aviator.

Any ideas as to what kind of jacket he is wearing? It looks like some sort of pull over or perhaps it zips in the back and the strap hanging over his left should...
I bought the complete series at Best Buy two days ago and I can't stop watching it. I used to watch it as a kid when it was on TV and thought it was great then. I never go to Best Buy, but I was looking for some software that I thought they might carry, but they didn't and the DVD just happend...
I have several friends that have stopped wearing watches and when ever they want the time, they pull their cell phones out. Am I the only one who has noticed this trend? Cell phones have almost replaced everything else from cameras to desk top computers so I guess why not the good old wrist watch.
