Hey all,
I didn't see this posted anywhere (if it is sorry), but I just found out a couple of days ago that TotGM is now on DVD.
There's both a US and international release. I picked it up at Best Buy, but here's a link to the main site for info...
I’m not sure if this has been posted, but the new issue has a picture of one of our very own FL members (not me) in their “people on the street” section. I can’t remember what page; 34 or 35 I think, just after a little article on how the hat is making a comeback.
I have two 1950’s East German parade uniforms; shirt, pants, jacket (and I think a tie but I can’t remember) One man’s and one woman’s. I’m not sure of the sizes. They are pretty dusty and the men’s jacket does have some stains on it.
There is also a pair of East German Army...
Wasn’t sure if this has been posted before, but I thought this might interest a few people here:

Hello all,
My wife was offered a Post Doc. position at UC Berkeley so it looks like we’ll be moving after she graduates in December. I know it’s still several months off, but I really like to preplan these things. The most I’ve ever moved in the past (not counting when I was a kid) has...
The Lounge seems so big now with our numbers over 5000. With Marc having a “nostalgia day”, it got me thinking; how many of that 5000 truly are “members”, people who post on a regular (or semi regular) basis and are here to make friends and be part of a community? How many have come...
Does anyone know any good quotes from old radio shows circa 1937-39?
Sort of a 30’s Homer Simpson, kind of like:
Marge: “Homer!”
Homer: “Doh!”
It’s for a comic book I’m doing, but all the comedy shows I have are from the 40’s. I know the general audience wouldn’t know...
And I’ll be off to WDW in Florida. I’ll be gone all next week. I’ll make sure to take a lot of pics, and post them on my return. That is if the Lounge is still here when I get back. I hope my copy of Classic Style arrives soon so I have something to read on the plane.
Next Sunday my wife and I will be flying to Florida to spend a week at Walt Disney World. We’re staying at the resort, and my wife will have her new camera, so I’ll post picks when we get back.
I am thinking of wearing my AB, but I’m still on the fence about it. I’ve been reading all...

Has anyone watched the blooper real on the new “the Maltese Falcon”?
Now, I’m not naive enough to think people in the 30’s and 40’s didn’t curse, and it’s hard to get away from it in this day and age…
But to hear Pat O’Brien, Jimmy Stewart, and a couple of others let out a string of swear...
Well, there are threads for the vest and the belt, how about the hat? Any ideas?
I know the one in the film was custom made by the costume department using felt form Italy.
Does anyone know of anything close?
This was on the news last night.
What are your thoughts? Useful, or just one step closer to big brother?

There's no way I'm having something implanted in me.
There’s rabbit and beaver, but what about buffalo?
I don’t think they make fedoras out of it, but I just say an ad in the new issue of “True West” for buffalo felt cowboy hats. It’s says they’re waterproof.
Any thoughts?
Here's a book I picked up at Borders yesterday:
http://www.bordersstores.com/search/title_detail.jsp?id=54523211&srchTerms=cars+of+the+70's&mediaType=1&srchType=Keyword
It’s a coffee table book with just pictures and descriptions of cars from the 30's, broken down by year and maker. It...
Campaign Hat

Will this replace the fedora in Hollywood? I can just see Kevin Federline wearing one to the club.
What is wrong with America? The game of tag is too dangerous? Have the rules changed since I was a kid? This was in the news yesterday:

Also on the banned list; soccer, touch football, and any activity that involves kids interacting with...
I just ordered a 142 Baldwin in steel gray with a 2 1/2” brim from felthats.com http://www.felthats.com/Miller_Felt_Hats/Miller_felt_hats_1.htm .
After wearing my AB pretty much every day since I received it on January 3rd, I decided I had to have another hat (You know, to go with the...
