5 Star G-1 Flight jacket L/XL, UK. For consideration here is a dark seal brown Goatskin G-1 jacket based on an early model. Jacket has a genuine period G-1 NOS Conmar zipper and buttons obtained from the famous MASH in Japan. Early rack n rib wool knits were sourced from a USA stockist and the...
Looking for a source of vintage style vest / singlet...(not the string variety)
Pike Bros were selling some nice ones but this years version are hideous IMHO with a deep square neckline making them like something a circus strongman would wear on a bad night.
Afternoon gentlemen just wondered whether anyone knows of a good source for ‘unbranded’ antique Levi style brass buttons for a potential custom Trucker project.
TIA Lee
Just about to embark on my second budget G-1 / M-422A USN 'Fantasy' Jacket (1st attempt back in 2015, very close but no cigar).
First attempt was a 'keeper' really but being in a ruthless mind-set at the time I moved it on (zippering final quarter of jacket caused a bit of mild leather pull)...
Just picked up a couple of these in nylon, Black & the Olive Green version pictured.
They make a great beater, XL fits as an XL chest and shoulders should (for me), though quite short relatively speaking in length and sleeves (which works for me) & nipped in at the waist.
Lightly lined the...
Afternoon Gents,
I've just lost my UK specialist military wear dry cleaners & restorers (Bradleys of Milton Keynes).
My L-2B needs a clean (too many parties), does anyone have a good UK dry cleaning source?
Out of interest also, has anyone handwashed these items & if so what were the results...
Afternoon Gents,
Snowbound here in the good old UK at present (well as snowbound as we ever get).
I've just taken receipt of a Greenbrier 'Vintage' MA1 jacket in an XL (dated '93), got it cheap off eBay & apart from a very small grease mark on the sleeve it's mint! I've had my eye on one of...
On the lookout for a vintage style hoodie, have noted Pike Bros & Eastman both make a version..very nice but quite pricey. Any recommendations Gentlemen?
Just picked up this curious thing:
Very late XL MA-1 (2000) if it is a service issue Ground Crew Jacket.
No country of manufacture on label, lining like a CWU 45P, feels like wool knits & short fit like it goes over a flight suit.
Zippers are marked 'Alpha' & have a civilian vibe though...
It's been a time coming (raising the £££), but the ELC Monarch A-2 has finally arrived.
Moved on my beloved RW A-2 size 46 just before Xmas (got married with that jacket in attendance) due to it never being 'quite' comfortable enough (a bit strait-jacket)
Going up to the 48 Monarch contract...
Thinking ahead to the warmer weather & outwear choices, just ordered one of these from SJC, my first denim jacket in years :-)
Should work well with my early chino's & Stetson caps that get thrown on every day...
