    College Football!

So much for the mighty Bulls of South Florida? 30-27 loss on the road to Rutgers? Bye-bye BCS. Good news for all of the one-loss traditional powers (USC, LSU, etc.) Things can fall into place for them to get back into the race. I can't see Ohio State or Boston College going undefeated. And...

South Florida No. 2?!?!?! What a crazy season this has been.

New Ladies and Gents Step Forward

I am a fan of the Packers, even though they are not my No. 1 team in the NFL. I grew up watching and listening to the San Diego Chargers and will always follow them with a passion.

New Ladies and Gents Step Forward

Rick, 31, married for six months. I don't wear vintage, but I'm a HUGE history buff. I consider myself to be a gentleman, which is, unfortunately, a vintage thing now-a-days. I like the charm and attitude of the past. I am a huge music fan, though. It doesn't matter the genre. I'm...

49er Fans to wear suits to game Sept 10th

It definitely is a way to make money. The NFL gets money from Reebok to tell the coaches to only wear Reebok team appearal. Reebok gets money because people see their favorite coaches and players wearing a hat or shirt or sweatshirt on the sidelines. It's a vicious circle of greediness, but...

49er Fans to wear suits to game Sept 10th

I guess my post was not clear, because I wasn't commenting on the picture on the cover of Time Magazine. I was joking on how out of place Lombardi would look with a more casual attire like the coaches wear today. Modern coaches wear khakis, polos, sweatshirts and turtlenecks.

    First hat

Thanks! That's a great find. I may not have all of the alphabet yet but I know where to get most of them.

The great Lombardi on the sidelines with a turtleneck?!?!lol :rage:  Just not right.

    First hat

Thanks. I will do more research on any kind of 'look' I might be going for. I'm not really trying to look like anyone. I just want to look classy.

    First hat

Any advice for someone who is thinking about getting a hat? I collect baseball caps (trying to get through the alphabet - L and Z are hard to find), but I am wanting to delve into a real hat. Don't know if it should be a fedora or bowler or hamburg or whatever? Don't even know what to...

Humphrey Bogart when he was in the USN 1918

Yeah, that doesn't even look like Bogart. But way cool.

49er Fans to wear suits to game Sept 10th

I have been following this story since it first came to light back in May of '05. It really is a shame you no longer see fedoras and ties on the sidelines. I know wearing a suit does not make someone a better coach and looking like a disheveled frat boy on Saturday morning after a kegger...

    What Are You Reading

I think there's a new Hoover book out, but I'll double check for you. I am finding it hard to find decent biographies on the group of presidents between Andrew Jackson to Lincoln.

    What Are You Reading

I am shocked at how little forethought went into the trip and really surprised TR would be involved with something so fumbled.

    What Are You Reading

I am currently reading 'The River of Doubt.' It is about Teddy Roosevelt after he lost his third-party bid for the presidency against Taft and Wilson. TR, always the adventurer, went on a scientific excursion into South America to navigate the River of Doubt. That expidition was the first...
