This is for the history buffs around here. Can anyone tell me when manufacturers of the G-1 Navy jacket changed from stenciling "USN" on the back of the collar to punching the letters in the storm flap? Also, have G-1's always been made in goatskin, or were there early incarnations in horsehide?
Does anyone know how to get a rust stain out like-new OG-107 poplin or sateen? Concerned about spotting the cloth dye. Thinking maybe some light CLR with a Q-tip? Also, what is the difference between poplin and sateen to the hand and eye?

Is anyone familiar with Alpha jackets in a 65% polyester 35% cotton blend for the shell?

Maybe it's just me, but if you're going to pass off a jacket as your own while using, ostensibly, an Alpha Industries label, you should...
Trying to find some clarity on the whole Alpha "Vintage" and "Made in USA" thing. McGuire's on eBay has two MA-1's listed as "vintage," one in "vintage blue," the other in "replica blue." The vintage blue jacket has the actual "Vintage Series" tag (with the F-4) and is non-reversible. The...
Guys, I'll try this from a different angle. I picked this up on eBay the other day out of curiosity about the Alpha fit regarding "made-in-USA" v. made in China. Et, voila!, it was a better fit than the new one I recently sent back to Alpha Industries. Chest a little narrower (26.25 v. 27...
This is for the Nyloniacs of planet TeFeL. Does anyone have a good way to get stains out of a nylon jacket? Got a made in USA Alpha MA-1 and straightaway got what I think is Chinese food sauce stains on the back. Forgot to triple-check the kitchen island counter (a rookie mistake at our house).
Hey guys-
Is there any relation of C.A.B. Clothing Co. to Real McCoy's? Are they affiliated? Does McCoy's do repro's of C.A.B. military contracts? Is C.A.B. a Japanese firm, and what is their reputation/quality? Thanks for any input.
This is not aficionado territory, but LLBean has a "Sherpa-lined" jacket marked down on their website. I actually bought two when they were going for $79. They are good-fitting, somewhat heavy, and quite warm. I guess they only have L and XL in stock. I got Mediums when they were available...
Just received the Alpha Industries B-15 in size Large, sage green, that I ordered last week. I am 5' 10.5"tall, 170 lbs., size 42 chest. I run on the smaller side of most large sizing. I specifically chose Alpha because of the supposed "tight fit" and its affordability. Very disappointed...
