Code of conduct. WPG ITEMS MADE IN PAKISTAN OR INDIA

Interesting reading. I hope people from different parts of the world take a bit of time to understand the others, because there are many good points posted. Take the food comparison in the US. The 10 dollars in McD vs 100 dollars in a healthy shop does not resonate in the developing world...

Code of conduct. WPG ITEMS MADE IN PAKISTAN OR INDIA

Lots of holier than thou stuff here. Please go and work in a developing country. It is just hard, beyond your imagination, for so many people to manage life day by day. Reading about it is one thing, but maybe the questioning comes from a place that is not realistic. Living it often makes...

    Right length of B-6 jacket

Get a D-1. Sort out the specs with the manufacturer, there's no correct, what you like is fine. B-6 is tapered, not so great with stocky build...

B-3 Jacket as a Daily Wear

Normandy is not cold, it's just often windy and damp. June should easily be 20+ C. But windy and damp :) Anyway, the weather is weird these days, I'm in the Geneva region, +15 C, no snow, flowers on the grass of my garden, pollen (thanks...), like end March, early April usually. So no B-3...

    Himel Brothers Leather Co.

I hate lawyering and arguing when I have spare time. I do enough of that for living. Is there a way to put people on "ignore" here? Nice jackets, I like the SJC version better, small details. My price point would be about 100 dollars :)

I did it (bought Konrad Gärtner, Reichenberg overcoat)

That's exactly what I'm looking for. The length is perfect, I'd just need a 44-46 :) A good find...

Quick, your house is on fire. What single jacket do you rescue?

I'd lock my wife in the house... I would take the first jacket that I see, and save the dog.

Some tips when ordering a custom A2 jacket

Yes, that would be my thinking, as well. I've never had too tight knits. And they get way less tight if they get wet and worn. But then again, I'm done with A-2s. One repro, sort of OK, one original, perfect, but too fragile to wear. Not really for me...

Cleaning a waxed Pike Bros N1

The wax is different from Barbour. I don't know how to explain it, maybe Barbour standard stuff is "waxier". And the N-1 has a heavy lining, whereas my Barbours do not, which changes the combo. Then again, I wash everything. And cannot be bothered to rewax. I bought my dryzabone duster...

Cleaning a waxed Pike Bros N1

Mine is the dark olive one. I washed it. The result was less wax, it shrunk a bit, and the texture of the lining changed to more coarse. Not a big deal, it's still plenty waterproof, it shrunk just to a fit I wanted. But the lining may be a worry. If it fits right, do nothing would be my...

    What's Your New Year's Resolution?

I'd like to get my golf hcp back to 6. Still at 8, but 6 would do. No need to lose weight, but need to work out, just to get to 6 hcp. That's about it. Plenty of other major problems, but the golf would do for now...

To all the jackets you've loved before (that traveled in and out your door)

Here's just the beginning... There are more waxed jackets and overcoats, but I guess this is the start, these have disappeared: - Aero Barnstormer - Aero A-2s, several, lost count, many hides (have one left, also one original) - Aero Highwayman, again several, lost count, also many hides and...

    Pike Bros denim

I've had their waxed N-1 for a year or two. After reading your message I went to check it. Some loose threads, cut them off with scissors. Buttons solid. Never noticed before. Anyway, it's warm and waterproof. The sizing can be odd, difference between L & XL is weird (had an L in normal...

    Not impressed ELC

Thin is just fine. My worry with the B-6 is how the lower back sort of flares out. Mine is an Aero. I reckon I bought a size big. Then again, I'm sure it will be fine with use. Having had a B-3 (way too hot) and still have also an Irvin, the B-6 feels most pleasant to wear, with much more...

So I was chatting with some girl online...

I cannot afford the local stores. A pair of 501s is about 140 USD. All I do do is buy socks and underwear at H&M. Everything else is online or when I'm traveling. Damn CHF.

    Stay or Go?

My response was based purely on what I think looks good. After that I bought a B-6 :) Just because the stereo shop never answered to me about the speakers...

    distressing leather jacket

My son's first leather jacket was one of those, bought from Aero. He still does not want to let it go, even though it's way too small by now. It stays in the closet, his wish. As far as the OP goes, I reckon he's done all there is to be done. A bit of alcohol to get rid of the excess shine...

    Thank goodness I live 5,400 miles away . . . .

When I'm in London, 3-4 times a year, I just stay at a hotel in Brick Lane. Then I go to Levisons first, just to chat with the dude there. I may buy something or then not. They are OK by me, prices high, but a "please" or "thank you" takes you a bit further. I avoid the Son of Stag, and...

    Handed down a leather jacket?

I've given several jackets to my son, my nephew, my uncle, my son's friends, a dude that does lots of repairs at the house, and friends. I guess I buy a lot and when I have too many, I can't be bothered to sell. I've never been given a jacket :) Right now I really don't have anything to give...
