    James Dean Jacket

I found a similar jacket at a Dillard's dept. store. It's by Roundtree and Yorke. The shell is polyester; the lining is cotton. Seems like it was around $50 on sale. Good luck, Brad

An all time low in common knowledge

education I teach in a public high school. It's disturbing to think that those students will one day be tending us in the nursing home...if they get jobs, of course. Many of my students say they are going to be professional musicians or pro athletes -- or just live off their parents...

How did you start wearing hats?

noggin protection and the movies I started wearing hats a few summers back on the advice of a dermatologist. My better half thought a straw fedora looked better than a pith helmet. Once cooler weather set in, I was hooked on felt fedoras. Some credit also must to go to film noir--plus...

    Stetson- Missouri/Texas...?

I've not had much luck with hats lately. Less than thrilled with the Stetson, I had Miller Hats send me a fedora. It arrived pretty well beat up--in a crushed, oil-stained carton; the replacement has yet to arrive, but I've got my fingers crossed. Brad

    Stetson- Missouri/Texas...?

Stetsons I mail-ordered a fedora from the MO Stetson outlet. The liner band was sewn in crooked; it was supposed to be a 7 3/8, but wobbled around on my head. It's gone to Mississippi for a new liner and a grosgrain band. Brad

    Fedora's in hot weather?

heat and felt It's still too hot for felt up here in Arkansas, even though we're over halfway through October. A Panama fedora is the next best thing when it's 90 degrees. Brad

    grosgrain ribbon source

I'm looking for a mail-order source of grosgrain ribbon hat bands 1" or 1 1/4" wide--and big enough to go around a 7 3/8 noggin. Any suggestions? The plan is to convert a brown Stetson cowboy hat into a fedora, but finding a hat band has proven difficult so far. Thanks, Brad

    BellyTank - What is it?

What is it? Hi. I believe that's a Bundeswehr Panzer beret, but am not absolutely sure; I tinker with busbies and Pickelhauben, rather than later German headgear. Regards, Brad
