I have two hats that, sadly, have been sitting unworn for far too long, and need to find new loving homes.
The first is a Biltmore Canadian Beaver De Luxe Finish, 7 3/8. It's a fairly long-haired hat, if you will, but a beauty, and great for cold days. It was purchased on eBay a few years...
Hello ladies and gents,
I have a question I was hoping for some help with. I have a lovely Biltmore beaver fur hat - the warmest one of my collection. Having just moved to Montreal, I know it will be wonderful during the cold winters! My question is, what sort of overcoat would go best with...
Just wondering if some of your fashion plates out there are also runners? I've recently come back to running after several years on the sidelines, and so far, done two marathons this year. The first one, I trained like the dickens for, and equipped myself in the newest and latest in footwear. I...
A pineapple and rum before dinner, and a nice dry white with the food. Gal I've been on a few dates with had me over for a lovely meal before we went out to a play. Wonderful evening - although I apparently overdressed for the theatre...
How much is too much to tailor?
A question for you knowledgeable folks:
I've recently (past six months) lost around 60 pounds. I have two beautiful suits that I adore, but they're now several sizes too large.
So, what should I do? How much can a tailor take in a suit? Am I better off...
Hello again!
I'm thinning out my collection in anticipation of a cross-country move, and as such, I've decided to put this beauty of a bowler out there, and see if anyone would be interested in her:
Purchased at John Helmer in Portland just this last November. Well cared for, and I'll...
Hey folks,
I admit, I don't know too much about this one, other than it was my ex-wife's, and she only wore it once:
It is a pillbox? Can't rightfully say. The label says "Betmar, New York", and says it's 100% wool. It's got a small elastic in the bottom to help secure it on the...
So, it looks as thought I'm going to be in the UK around the first parts of June this year. A "Team Canada" of women's roller derby is being formed, and I'm going with them as the referee. Sadly, around my parts, we're particularly hat-shop-deprived, and I figured that somewhere along our tour...
Trying to decide what to have this morning:
Tiramisu rooibos?
Vanilla Lemon white tea?
White Vanilla Coconut white tea?
Earl Grey Cream black tea?
Celtic Twist ceylon blend?
Moroccan Mint black tea?
Gen Mai Chai green tea?
Ida know - I've smoked far more than my fair share of stogies, but nothing beats the one I got in Cuba on a tour of the Cohiba factory, just before it closed to tours :( Brought it back home, smoked it... best smoke ever. Even the non-smokers in the bar were complimenting the scent! Not to...
IMHO
Normalization of relations is a long way off, depending on who you vote into office come November, and the continued increase in Cuban-Chinese relations, among about a thousand other factors.
in the meantime, come up to Canada or go down to Mexico if you want a Cuban cigar without the...
Tango Yankee, I was asking where you acquired that rack, but now I see the link. A splendid idea!
I'm 6'2" and drive a Hyundai with a surprising amount of headroom. The only problems I encounter are the fore-mentioned headrest cramping and the occasional feather loss out an open window :(
Got my new hat in from OFAS:
A bit tighter than my other 7 3/8th hats, but judging by the condition of the hat (spotless) and the condition of the hat box (old, but very intact) and that lovely old attic smell, I'd say it just hasn't been worn in a long time.
