1940s womens shoes

Why thank you! My shoes were actually from clarks last year (the originals range which does a few proper vintage inspired shoes every now and again), they remind me of the vintage kids sandals you see in pictures! That quote reminds me of me at Detling last year sitting on the wartime beach display! I wore a rather pale 1930s elasticated swim suit, and pale colours do not go with my pasty complexion either haha! The swimsuit is fabulous however! When they first came out they had them in 3 colours and I would have loved the navy, but at £64.99 plus £5 postage on the Miss L Fire website I decided to leave them :( But I just got them in the black and red for only £32...- maisie

I'm looking to clean a checked 1940s wool skirt that has quite a few stains on it. I was thinking of having it dry cleaned but typically this process just doesn't get 70 year old stains out! I think is also depends what lipstick you use with it. Nearly all of my lipsticks, including my rimmel and bourjois lipsticks work fine with it, allowing them to last all day. However I've tried lipcote with revlon's matte lipstick and it goes very sticky and clumps up, not a pretty site... -
