Looking for Two Specific Styles of Boots

Dinerman, Thanks! I had seen those as well but as you said they're too short. It's weird that seemingly no one makes that lace-to-toe type in a highboot anymore. Only in a low boot it seems. Thank you, Josh

Looking for Two Specific Styles of Boots

Hello everyone, I'm looking for two specific patterns of boots and after looking myself through my usual sources for modern made "look-a-likes" I was wondering if the community here would be able to help. The first pair will be the hardest. Here they are: So from what I can...

    Invasion Vest ??

Seriously not issued to only rangers. Most of the vest went to the 16th and 116th Infantry Regiments of the 1st and 29th Infantry Divisions(these units were almost completely outfitted for the invasion with these vests). A number also went to the Assault Regiment of the 4th Infantry Division...

Up to 25,000 died in Dresden's WWII bombing - report

This is a direct quote from the book introduction written in 1942: "one of the foremost industrial locations of the Reich" From the memoir of a POW in the city of Dresden: "I saw with my own eyes that Dresden was an armed camp: thousands of German troops, tanks and artillery and miles of...

    Invasion Vest ??

These were actually issued to elements of the 1st, 29th and 4th Infantry Divisions(it was in fact the 4th Infantry Division which was famous for cutting these down). With some vest going to the 2nd and 5th Ranger Battalions. If you want a very comprehensive history of the development, issuance...

Battle of the Bulge Reenactment - Big Lake, MN 19 DEC 09

Is it in the ETO or PTO? Then again it is the MARCH of 1945 basically the end of the war. 99.99% of M1 Carbines used during the Second World War would have had the type 1 barrel band and sight. Add that a decent reproduction of those parts goes for $30 dollars it is inexcusable. You don't need...

Help with an M-41 FIELD JACKET

For Winter Combat Jackets I would recommend ATF as they have the correct taper and everything. The only ones better in my opinion are Buzz Ricksons but those cost about $300 not the $125 that I got mine for. What Price Glory, as with allot their items, do not have the proper cut and are made in...

Very interesting. Do you have any books that you would recommend on the subject that sounds very interesting? -Josh

Help with an M-41 FIELD JACKET

I'll recommend the ATF M1941 1st Pattern Field Jackets as they are pretty much 100% correct. The ATF regular M1941 Field Jackets on the other hand are incorrect in zipper length, cuff stitching, and epaulet length. These issues should be fixed in their upcoming run, so I would wait till...

    US Marines and USMC reenactors?

There are 2 options. 1st is of course to get an original which do sometimes come up on Ebay. Problems are of course that certain sizes may be hard to get and the condition may vary. The second option is to get the garrison belt from WPG and dye it the proper cordovan color...

    US Marines and USMC reenactors?

I would e-mail him about it but I'm not entirely sure. I got mine more than a year ago now, one of his very early production ones. The Army interpreter sounds interesting. Do you know if the USMC had the same thing? The only one I know about is Guy Gabaldon...

    US Marines and USMC reenactors?

For shooting badges I would look around on Ebay as they come up fairly frequently. For the 1/2 inch ribbons I would check out this guy: Tom Koenig tekrelics@aol.com 513-481-1478. and this guy: Der Teufelhund 13b Marina Blvd. Beaufort, SC 29902 843-521-9017 8am till 5 pm...

WWII Boots - Service, Jump, etc.

I've worn about a bunch, a couple times all weekend long without taking them off my feet. They just are not that comfortable, the lasts are great and aren't a problem, its really the uppers that are the problem with this weird leather that super-stiff even after repeated use. I've come back from...

WWII Boots - Service, Jump, etc.

I recommend waiting as I own both the WW2IMP Boots and ATF Boots and the ATF are super stiff and uncomfortable even after almost 2 years of use. The also are cut weirdly and the leather isn't all that great. WW2IMP is worth the wait. -Josh

WWII Boots - Service, Jump, etc.

I had a pair of those 1950s era French Combat Boots but they were incredibly uncomfortable, even after trying for a while to break them in. By getting the WWII Impression M1943 "Double Buckle" Combat Boot, you will get a hard wearing and comfortable boot. I have a pair that is almost 10...

WWII Boots - Service, Jump, etc.

I would get a pair of the WW2 Impression Double Buckles as their quality has vastly improved over the past several years and to get that darker "distressed shade" I would shave the nap off, then treat them with saddle soap, the treat the with some sort of boot oil or dressing(I prefer...

    US Marines and USMC reenactors?

Yeah they weren't all that sturdy since they were basicly glorified paper mache. My original(which I keep at home on display) feels pretty flimsy even though it is in good condition. Luckily I got a good deal on my original, about $250 with orginal Fixed Bale helmet and ID to a Marine...

    US Marines and USMC reenactors?

Actually it is reproduction Hawley made by Rob Lihani. It is fantastic and I love it for using for my Guadalcanal and Tarawa USMC Impression and my North Africa and Sicily US Army Impressions. I got mine with fixbale helmet for about $200. Since demand has gon up allot they have gone up to...

I'm USMC reenactor portraying the USMC from 1942-1945, 1951-1952, and 1967-1972. I am also currently working on my 1937-1942 China Marine Impression. I'm out of South-Eastern Virginia. Me doing C/1/5 September, 1942. Near Henderson Field, Guadalcanal...
