I found this Stetson 25 for $12.50 at Goodwill too. It and the Borsalino are the only 2 I've ever seen worth keeping.

Shopping at Goodwill around here has been pretty good to me. I've even found a like new Zegna silk wool blend sport coat that cost around $1200 new. My list of finds is too long to mention, but needless to say the 2 fedora's were probably the rarest of things to find, especially the Borsalino.

I love Goodwill and thrift stores. I've found some great vintage stuff, including some hats for near nothing (including a 1950's Portis I paid ten bucks for and a Beaver Blend Twenty I paid 4 bucks for) but it takes a lot of patience and a lot of looking. But to me, that's half the fun. Even the stores that usually have nothing produce a good find once in a while, but again, you've got to keep looking!

All I've ever find are tupperware bowls with mismatched lids, and polyester pants! You, my friends, are blessed! Regards! Michaelson

True, so true. I just have to remember to stay away from high heat, though. Polyester trousers melt! ;) You have a great evening too, BT!!!

It IS a great bathroom. Mine gets a gut and start over this summer, so I'm always looking at vintage styles. Thanks for the wider angle picture.

You inspired me to hit Goodwill (and the Hospice Browse & Buy) at lunch. Nothing but bathtubs filled with headless Barbies...

I have found some good fedoras, including two vintage Borsalinos, at vintage and/or antique shops here in San Diego, but find little or nothing in the Goodwill/Salvation Army/AmVets places. I was told that is because the buyers for the vintage places get there right away, before things are put out for sale, and buy up the good vintage stuff.

Same with yard sales, of which San Diego has plenty. I did find an old Borsalino at one yard sale some years ago, but it was too small. It fit a friend, however, and I got it for her.

I found three good hats at Wear It Again, Sam, a vintage shop in Hillcrest. Boy, I would love to find a hat like the one you scored in Goodwill or someplace. Wow!
