Anyone know anything about old hats by Phil Forstadt?

I was looking for an old Fedora on a large unnamed auction site and ran across one that would fit my youngster, affordable and would be the perfect Indy hat. I googled "Phil Forstadt" but it came up w/ nothing. I really don't care if it's secretly worth a lot since ultimately the kid's 7 and it doesn't really matter, but it sparked my curiosity when I couldn't find anything on it.

Forstadts were a group of hat stores that were in the NY areas during the 1940-s until the 1970's. They had a store in Brooklyn, Harlem and Midtown Manhattan.

Platinum Beaver?

Anyone have any idea what "platinum beaver" marked inside a felt hat means? (I suspect it doesn't have much to do with actual beaver felt).
