Are 50s full skirts/dresses only for evening wear?

i just love the ful skirts and the petticoats underneath,
but I don't think they're very handy (or maybe i'm clumpsy)
because i once bumped the coffeemugs of the table with my petticoat under my skirt.

so in daytime i never wear a petticoat again only when I'm going out

I used to have the most beautiful soft layered net petticoat that had belonged to my mother in the fifties. The net had a rainbow of soft colours and white polkadots sigh but it was so fragile and I wasn't too good at taking care of my vintage clothes in my teens so it pretty much disintergrated!

But back on topic - I wear full skirts during the day. Cotton ones aren't so dressy and with a little sleeveless blouse in summer they are deliciously cool and breezy. If you cinch the waist in it gives a little volume without being too over the top.
