Are heavy jackets bad for the back?

I own an Aero Half belt in FQHH which I really love; the quality of the workmanship and materials. I also have a neck and shoulder injury from a traffic accident a few years ago, which I hate . The two do not go well together. That's why I now am working on replacing my FQHH jacket with a lighter goatskin jacket. I am sure that if a person have problems wearing a heavy jacket because of generally bad shape, a workout program will be the solution. If a person have a neck/shoulder/upper back injury, I will strongly advise to try wearing a heavy jacket for a few hours before making a substantial investment.
