.... thought Gus Miller of Batsakes hats in Cincinnatti deserves a thread here :)
Many of us who have purchased panama's from Panama Bob wear his work on our noggins :)

For newbies here's his shop :

And here's my first piece of his work, but assuradly not my last . It's my Semi-Calado Montecristi that PB sent to Gus to get finished for me this fall:

It's a beautiful piece of work and I will definately have PB send more of my Panama's to Gus for him to do his magic on.
So let's see those Batsakes folks ! :)

I LIKE THAT hat :) Any specs you could furnish ? Particularly the brim width/crown hght. and color ? I've copied your photos for reference when I talk to Gus about making one for me ! ( will have to get the brim w/a bound edge though :) )

The crown is just over 5 inches and the brim is 2 1/2 inches. I believe the felt hood I picked said camel. I would fax (he doesn't have Internet) Gus photos of my hat as a reference. He just made it so he should remember the details.

I never thought that the first Gus Miller custom that I would have in my hands would be a western.

When they gave me a shipping quote it was pretty steep. I questioned it and the shipper said that the hat box was pretty big and when they put it into a new shipping box with padding the rate was higher. I said I was unaware that there was a hat box, that I didn’t need it and could they just ship the hat in a box alone. This was not what I meant:

That not how it’s supposed to go;
