Does anyone have any experience with one of these. I'm looking for a tweed flat cap which comes down lower on the back. This one also has a bill built like a Hat People cap without the plastic insert. I kind of like that idea but I've never owned a cap that doesn't have the plastic.

Back in the '20s, '30s, etc. They were using either rubber or some kind of reconstituted leather in most of the brims.

Yeah, Dinerman is right. I have a tweed eight-quarter from the early 30s and I believe the bill is sewn over rubber.
I think the Harris Tweed part is a great choice. My son gave me a Ivy League Harris Tweed a couple of years ago ... fall colors ... and I didn't use it much at first because I prefer the shape of the eight-quarter, but I tried it and I really like the feel and the "fall" of the Harris Tweed.
