Has anyone read the biographies of classic picture stars which Mr. Darwin Porter has written? I have read several and feel ambivalent. While of course they are gossipy and sensationalistic in the extreme, I find as I read around in other sources, items which lend credence and coroboration to what he says. He claims that his mother was in the wardrobe department or some such thing in the early days and heard a lot of gossip which she told him and which he in turn wrote down - what later became these books. I suppose it could all be true....but gee, was nearly everyone in early Hollywood bisexual?
