Since the thread on pre-made Bloody Mary mixes isn't getting much response I thought it would be good to start on own our favorite recipes for said drink.

Here's my current version. I prefer the Bloody Snapper, which is substituting Gin for Vodka.

Ingredients

5 ice cubes
1 (6 fluid ounce) can tomato juice
2 fluid ounces dry gin
2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
2 teaspoons hot pepper sauce
2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
1/2 teaspoon brine from olive jar
1 pinch hot chili powder
1 pinch garlic powder
1 pinch ground cumin
1/4 teaspoon celery salt
1/4 teaspoon fresh-ground black pepper
1/4 teaspoon prepared horseradish

1 celery stalk
1 small dill pickle or hot pickled okra
2 stuffed green olives
1 wedge lemon

Can't wait to try this one. I admit I drink a mix most of the time but this looks worth the trouble. On the other hand, can I wait to perform all that mixing? I suppose that's what the short beer is for.

For those who do not recall Fred Sandford's Bloody Mary recipe, I will post it.

Bloody hell

I remember once, staggering into a pub in a rough part of town with a stinking hangover and ordering a BM, the tattooed unshaven bartender poured tomato juice and vodka into a glass and handed it over..
hey mate, I said, how about some Worcestershire and lemon juice at least.
"steak sauce???" he yelled at me, this is a bar not a f#@#*%#* restaurant!!!
