Campaign hat's crown?

Has anyone rendered the crown of a standard three-inch brim campaign hat into a western/cowboy crown or any crown other than its standard form? My own rather beaten up campaign hat has its crown stretched and pointed to strongly resemble that earlier higher crown hat shown in many photographs of Lt. General Joseph Stilwell during World War II.

Can crown of currently available campaign hats be rendered into a more civilian shape? If you have accomplished this, please let me view photographs.
