cleaning a soiled beaver felt hat.

Hey folks,

Got a common problem here, but I thought I'd let you know the specifics just in case.

I was out swing dancing with my VS custom beaver felt when I decided to dip myself at the end for comic effect. Whoops, there goes my hat! Double whoops! Now I've tread on it with my shoe.

There are some rather ugly black scuff marks on my poor silverbelly. Before I attempt anything, do you reckon a bit of water and cloth is all I need or should I get some kind of special cleaner?

I got an blue ink pen mark off the front of my VS silverbelly with denatured alcohol. It cleaned it off 100% with no discoloring of the felt. Good luck.
