Hi guys, I have today a hat that doesn't fit. Its a bummer as its fairly nice.
Hat is "used" but I'll leave it to those more experienced than I to determine the actual age. (white checkerboard liner, square black size tag, "luxuro finish") My guess is 70's to early 80's
Hat is marked a size 6 3/4, and is way to small for my 7 1/4 noggin. I wish it were a 7 1/4 as I actually do quite like the hat.
Liner is clean and bright, sweat is soft and supple, felt is soft, clear of any mothing, and takes a nice bash without breaking out the tea kettle, snap brim is well behaved, brim welting is crisp and shows no signs of coming unfolded.
Crown (when open) measures 5"
Brim measures 1 3/4"
Ribbon measures 1 7/8"
I really would like to just trade for a similar hat, that fits. Looking for any decent Fedora, open to discuss style and color (but a brown would be nice).
I need it to be a 7 1/4 (58)
Photos of hat offered to trade (on my monitor, and to my eyes, felt is fairly close to color. Ribbon is more brown, and a fairly close match to the felt):
only flaw I see is a small stain in the ribbon at the back of the hat. Might come out, I have not attempted to clean it (its not easy to see unless your looking for it, I had to shoot 4 pictures to get it to be this visible) :
Naturally if you don't have a trade, I would be open to cash offers, but I really would rather have a hat.
