Headed to St Louis

I'm going to St Louis in a couple of weeks for a few days. Can anyone suggest some places of interest that may not be in the usual travel guides? Any hat stores in the city worth dropping by? Thanks.

Absolutely...Levine's on Washington Street has been around forever. Nice selection of new stuff (don't forget to check out their reduced price offerings on the second floor) and a helpful staff. They also offer services like a steam and reblock if you are in need. There are also some good antique malls around - consult Google. Also if you like Italian food...check out the hill. It still remains a largely ethnic neighborhood with all sorts of restaurants, bakeries, butchers and food stores. One word of caution, St. Louis has seen a lot of bad press recently due to an escalating crime rate. I've never experienced any problems first-hand, just stay alert, be aware of your surroundings and have a safe trip!

Ignore the ads, skip Immo's Pizza, it is poor. By the river there is the Spagetti Factory, great food and service and the Cardinals are always fun to see.
