How do you say "Open Road" in Italian?

LOVE that hat!

Interesting tag -- is there also a standard Borsalino tag under the sweat, with a serial number?

That hat is absolutely beautiful and it's my size too, well, if it were a long oval.

Oh, and "Open Road" doesn't really directly translate to to Italian. If pressed with my limited Italian, I would probably go for "Strada Libera," which is closer to "Free Road."

Thanks! It didn't exactly go cheap, though. Not like this one:

All the way from France... I hope I don't get burned. The guy has a lot of good feedback, though.

I almost bid on that one just for the store logo.
It comes from further than France.

You *know* that hat predates 1954 (and if you don't
you now have a homework assignment).

Me too. If I hadn't already picked up to Borsalinos in the last five days...

OK, Tony, after seeing your excellent Open Road at the Mission Inn, I had to get one for myself. I scored this little job last week and just got it today:

Jack,

How is it? Is it floppy, especially the brim? Is the felt soft?

Are you going to keep the present styling or reshape it?

Let me know if you need any help.

Regards,
HJ

It is floppy, and soft. I will eventually change the block, I think, to a center dent. There is some minor staining on the button of the wind trolley, and the ribbon has a very minor tinge to it, just from age I imagine. It has the Stetson logo that is similar to the one JamesPowers poseted in Tony's Adam:The First Name in Hats thread (lifted here from JamesPowers reply for your convenience. Thanks JP!):

but without the Standard Quality and without the place names. it also has a code stamped in the inside of the sweatband: 133518, and a code on the store's tag that reads 8/63FNKK. The price was $11.95. Anybody care to venture a guess on age?

Regardless, I like it better than my Royal Deluxe already!

Perhaps, August of 1963?
Great hat, my friend.
