I Really Like This Jacket

Just looking at it now, though, is it just me or does the left sleeve not look as if it's been replaced? Or is that just an ageing thing?

I think anytime you're seeing through a lens, you don't know what you're really looking at. For example, Barbara Stanwyck in "The Big Valley," but that's another subject. :D On the jacket: to me, it's Flash Gordon.

Vespizarre, I also like the back on the Hercules jacket. Very nice. This one from Adjustable Costume has a similar buttoned front belt. Come to think of it, this looks a lot like the one you originally posted.

Edit: and some fit pics in black. The length looks perfect, to me.

Thanks again, "Ish"

I don't think I want a jacket quite as long as the Mushman, so the belt would be a little out of proportion. That said, I really like the shape of those particular pocket flaps and will send that pic to JL (unless I come across something even more perfect perfect).

Real McCoys have a nice car coat with a buttoned belt out back, but none in front.

This coat is sold out, if I'm not mistaken. It is also quite pricey at 1.600 Euros...

I don't want the coat but I'm happy to steal the idea for the belt. I like that it's functional (like the cuff buttons on a Saville Row suit) and am hopeful that Alan at JL can re-create a half-belt where the back adjustment straps flow organically from a belt like that and not just emerge from the stitches as is normal.
