Here I am circa 2003, in the Torpedo Room on board the USS Augusta, SSN 710., a fast attack submarine. I'm sure she's decommissioned or on her way to being decommissioned by now. I believe the Augusta has been around since 1982 or 1983.

I'm just wearing the work coverall uniform here. I'm not sure if I have any pictures of me in more snazzy uniforms, but I'll look. I honestly don't remember what sort of gun I'm holding there. They just let me hold it for the picture. As a Radioman, we didn't use many guns. It's an "M" something.. or maybe there's just an "M" in it.. and a 4, I think.

Camp Lejeune! My dad retired there!
Somewhere in my parent's stuff is a picture of me at age 4, in my dad's cammies, saluting. I'll see if I can find it and post.

He flew for the Navy, and early in his career he flew P-2s, but mainly he flew P-3s and A-3 Skywarriors.
I love the Orion and Neptune, and I'll bet the A-3 was quite the change (mission and engine type). Good for him...looks like he has his ear cup off his ear talking to his copilot, maybe getting the run down before the flight (I'm guessing it isn't after the flight as there are no tell-tale marks on his ear from the headset).

1st, let me apologize as this is the 3rd time I've posted this pic...

But I have very few pictures of me in uniform.

This is probably my favorite uniform...comfortable like pyjamas and if I'm wearing them chances are I can escape the office and go flyin'.

Mission was recon on all, but yep on the engine type. :) Speaking of the P-2, I think my dad was one of the few (the only?) to ever barrel roll one. lol

Yeah the M-16 AR-15 really sucked. They continue to suck after all these years. They suck so much they're ten times better at sucking than they were back then even. They suck so much even that there are dozens and dozen of manufacturers making that sucky weapon.

When was the last time you shot an AR15 or M16?
Not to mention now MANY police depts. use the AR-15!
And I loved the M-60...:D

2006 Ball. Sadly this was the last ball we've been to. He's been deployed for every Ball since then. I have a closet full of ball gowns and no ball to wear any of them to.....And once again, he'll be gone for the ball this year...ah well. maybe next year...

And yes to those of you who pay attention and notice that he has 3 service stripes on his blues and two on his alphas, he's technically out of uniform. I'm a slacker and havn't taken care of getting all of his uniforms up to date. I know, bad wife. His Dress Blues Alphas are the only thing I think that actually are completely up to date. He can't even wear his Charlies because I haven't put the right ranks on any of his short sleeve shirts. It's on my list to do while he's gone.

Do you have an orange one too? :) My dad had an old pickup (with a wooden bed!) from California Dept of Agriculture which was bright orange on the bottom and a white roof, and he looked a sight driving that around in his orange fightsuit. lol

Motivation Attack

This thread got me all motivated to rummage through old photos. I think we had as many different uniforms as some of ya'll here have suits.

1986.. why do I always forget the date? :)

Ms. Josephine:
Happy Mother's Day to her. It's cold & rainy here today.

Ms. Spiffy:
What years were you/he at Lejeune? Maybe we crossed paths.

Nope, the orange flight suits gave way to blue flight suits for the CG years ago, and then we made the switch to green flight suits  just like everybody else about 5 years ago.

I won't throw out the blue ones I have, despite the wife's insisting on it.;)
