Here is a great link on sizing and how to measure. Note that both the slim fit and relaxed fit jackets are historically correct, at least in an A-2.

That is the tutorial presented by Andy Falzon. I have saved it on my desktop for the past 3-4 years in case I ever needed to send the information to someone else. With the measurements done in this standard way, one can know whether a possible jacket acquisition wil fit or not.
