The Joy Theater reopens in New Orleans as an entertainment venue, not certain if they will show films there or simply have live performances.

For those of you who read the article and who do not know what a "pirogue" is, it is a small canoe-like watercraft native to Louisiana. Originally they were a dugout canoe made from a cypress log, but you'd be hard pressed to find anyone making them that way today.

Why am I writing about a pirogue in a story about a re-opened theater in New Orleans? Read the article and find out.
