Kurosawa Festival at Stanford Theater

There is an Akira Kurosawa Film Festival begining Saturday, February 20 at Stanford Theatre in Palo Alto, CA. The film 7 Samurai starts off the festival. This was the film that The Magnificient Seven was based.

I saw it last night. Excellent movie. I thought the recent subtitles were sloppily done. A little too much profanity which I doubt would have been in a 1956 film and the present day vernacular doesn't fit in with a movie that supposedly took place in 1560 Japan. Otherwise, this was an excellent film. The festival runs for a month.

I wish I could hit that. I'm a huge fan, I've got about 3 Kurosawas in my dvd collection. I'm crossing my fingers that it will hit Vancouver.
