I was at a yard sale in Philadelphia about 12 or 14 years ago, and I saw two film-reel cans. I asked the woman what was in them and she told me Laurence Olivier doing Hamlet. So I bought them for 5 bucks. I don't know why, I just thought it was cool to have. And, I don't know if they have any value.

Anyone know?

How wide is the film: 16mm? 8mm? 35mm? Is there a visible sound track? How wide are the reels (i.e., how much film do they hold)?

If they're from his 1948 feature film (either as extracts, like a Castle Films condensed version, or as part of a full print), they're not valuable. OTOH, if they record him in a stage or live-TV performance, they could be rare and valuable.
