How many Ligne's can fit in an inch?

Read on Wiki that one ligne is about 2.25mm's. Can do the math on that, but Wiki had other info that could be different, so what does a ligne or 10 lignes equal in inches in the hat trade?

I was told 11 ligne to the inch. So, 9 ligne might be called 3/4 in or 7/8ths. 16 ligne might be called 1.5 in. 22 ligne is definitely 2 inches!

If we take 2.25 mm and convert to cm: it equals .225cm

That works out about right: 2.54cm per inch/.225cm per ligne = 11.3 ligne per inch. Thank you!
