From An Old Book ...

I have a book published in the 1932 called "The Manual of Formulas." Great book that covers all kinds of recipes, methods and secret processes for woodworking, home & kitchen, garden, etc. Everything from how to make your own glues and paint to fireworks and photographic processing solutions. In the section titled "Care of Clothing" I found the following:

"Perspiration stains are removed with soapy water & hydrogen pyroxide."

This is everything it said. No measurements for the two ingredients were given. I haven't tried this yet and I would definitely suggest testing it on something other than your valuable fedora to see how it acts. But it's a vintage recommendation from the era we all love so I thought it would be of interest.

I have a hat I want to try it on. But first I think I'll slip something in between the hat and the band to protect the felt. I'll let you know what happens.
