... June 4, 1942: the Battle of Midway--turning point of the Pacific War, where at great cost to American carrier aviators the Imperial Japanese Navy's primary offensive arm was all but obliterated, particularly the carriers and pilots of the Pearl Harbor raid.

Let us remember all who gave their lives that fateful day, even though D-Day is more famous.
