Dinner jacket on New Year's Eve. Quite standard, midnight blue, peak lapelled.

New Year's Day... still the dinner jacket, though a tad bit more scruffy looking

My hands holding the binoculars would still get in the way of the side of the brim, regardless of whether snapped up or down. Deerstalker was better just this once.

An early 30's tuxedo, late 30's or early 40's cap toes and bow tie, vintage shirt studs and links, and a Magnoli Clothiers wing collar shirt.
