Stiffening shantung hats?

I have a Twister shantung hat with the common cattleman crease. The problem is the front of the crease has met one tree branch too many. I can push the hat back into shape but the strands won't stay in place. I there a way to re-stiffen strands once they're in place?

Spray Starch.......applied carefully....gradually....

Hmmm... Interesting thought. I'll give it a try. The hat's a working hat, but still worth keeping it in shape. As it were. [grin]

Tear open a brown paper grocery sack & hold it around the crown to cover the crown & ribbon from overspray & splatter from the aerosol starch. Works well.
