I just got my Costumer's Guild West newsletter, and found something you loungers may be interested in. Here's what it says...
"Turner Classic Movie Channel has opened up a "test" shop at the Grove shopping mall (at Third and Fairfax in Los Angeles), complete with some costumes from classic movies. While they don't have a lot on display, they do have Humphrey Bogart's suit and Ingrid Bergman's outfit from Casablanca (as well as Sam's piano and some other furniture/furnishings from the set), Katharine Hepburn's robe from Adam's Rib, Judy Garland's red dress from A Star Is Born, Elizabeth Taylor's blue dress from Giant, and Clark Gable's tan suit from Band of Angels. They also have some vintage accessories for sale (hair nets, hair pins, purses, etc.) for sale as well as some real and reproduction jewelry.
The store is only temporary and will disappear after Christmas. Hours are Monday through Thursday, 10am-9pm, Friday and Saturday, 10am-11pm and Sunday 11am -7pm."
I haven't been yet (I'm afraid it would be serious danger to my pocketbook), but I'd love to hear back from anyone who has!
