Am I the only poster who has a spiritual commitment to the apellation "Martini" for gin, vervouth and an olive? (bitters may be allowed, as they were used in the 40's and before but almost never now, except for my 90 year old mum who will make one twice a year using a dash of bitters for old time's sake).


No, you are not alone. It's just that this is so outrageous that it seems redundant to even go over the whole "gin is what is used in a Martini" thing. ;) :p

Right.


At least when ordering a drink with a tini at the end of you shouldn't expect a glass of something opaque with a piece of chicken hanging off of it.

Nothing like the Old Fashioneds that I make but then again, I make mine to drink not to make me sick.
That being said, I would try it just to be sure. It might surprise me. [huh]

I too am a wee bit curious. <just a little bit>

I did once use a stick of Pepperami instead of swizzle stick in a Harvey Wallbanger. :rolleyes:
