Twickenham to Teddington by trolley bus

Film from 1931 of the first trolley bus to run between Twickenham and Teddington in South West London. I live in nearby Kingston and still remember trolley buses in the late 50s early 60s and the conductors/conductresses having to get out and use a very long pole to re-attach the the tall conducting rails.

I live near Kingston too, shame I don't recognise any of this. I wish they still had proper bus conductors *sigh*

Glad you enjoyed it. As it happens I was in Twickenham today and what is surprising is how recognisable, even after 80 yrs, so much of it is from this film, particularly if you look up above the modern shopfronts to the first floors and above. This is true of so much of the British townscape and people should lift their gaze more often to see the into past.
