Does anyone have any idea when this hat dates from?
The hat is actually a light grayish tan, not gray. The band is not pleated as it might appear.
It has three colors: dark brown, with three thin light tan stripes. Below the stripes there is a darker tan stripe that is faded to look like a shadow.
One more question: Are hats like this supposed to take a light pinch? It seems like they could be left rounded in front, but I think the pinch would look better. BTW, the triangle dent is much more elongated than the angle of the picture indicates.
