It's a sweet kinda furry 50s Dobbs with a felt band ... has the feel of a Railbird with a wider brim.
I'd never seen anything like it so I snagged it

All I saw was Sterling Beaver .

What is Sterling Beaver?

...so my guess is it's nothing more than another meaningless marketing phrase designed to convince potential buyers that this felt is somehow superior to another beaver felt.

Just saw this going back thru the last couple of pages. I don't know the particulars of how it is done but Sterling beaver has to do with the way the animal is skinned, fleshed & the pelt processed. It is time consuming but produces a better pelt. It's not a marketing gimmick.
