Superb. Great shade of brown. This is the younger brother of the Carlton in the classified
Size is 60 or 7 1/2 and this is a little wide for me, so the 61 or 7 5/8 is a large one for its size
It was made at least seventy years ago by J&B one of the most high level quality French producers
The felt color "Auburn" is a really interesting deep brown, see pictures with the sun to have the right color shade
The felt is an excellent example of malleability, The finish is of first quality
So you have the Carlton as it is on a head
Thanks for the likes of yesterday Borsalino!
Exquisite, Alan.View attachment 147118

The chill in the air this morning called out for comfort fabrics... a small maker long hair beaver hat that feels like it might have been made from golden retriever (I know, awful thought, but I have snuggled with many), a cashmere coat and comfy thrift store found cotton velour shirt jacket from Ermenegildo Zegna.
Thanks Stefan. Everybody’s got diamonds down. Kinda the contrarian in me!Stellar hat, Bowen. Warm welcome awaits you in the center crease camp!
Not as smooth or soft as a 7X, or Dobbs 50, or Dobbs or Stetson 100, or MacLachlan, bit very nice. Very obedient, thick felt, no steam required.Very nice Max!! Turf Club is a heck of a hat!
What say you of the Turf Club felt??
B
Thanks Stefan!Ah, yes! The Rockel is a great one. Nice combo, John.
Stefan, Thanks! As usual a stellar series of hats from you today!Beautiful longhair and one of the nicest liners ever.
Struggles with the phone are over (it seems). Last few days:

Cool hat and bit of plane history, Red.A bit of brightness in the remodel dispair! A fantastic gift hat from our own @deadlyhandsome, Brent arrived today. This sweet Resistol 880 is super light, great kitty finish and fits like a dream. Brent said it was stingy at 2 1/4", it really doesn't have that look when on my head. Great straight crown for a late 1950s hat. They had a whole series of hats named after the new jet airliners that were taking the skies from about 1958 to the early 1960s. The Convair 880 was a smaller airliner than the Boeing 707, which got all the orders. They only made 65 of this model, so it was not a success. The most famous 880 was bought by Elvis Presley in 1975. He named her the "Lisa Marie". I love this place, no matter what, we are family. Thanks to Brent, a great guy!!

Love the crease on that one Michael. Great hat!
That cold does look rather biting Jay. Love the Stetsonian, great brim work.
That color is just fantastic Bill! So pristine.
Really an interesting hat. That brand does not come up in a quick Google search, I'll have to check Newspapers.com. I wonder what city? Love the OR like lines.
Love that finish. The ribbon has a nice texture to it as well.
I like that organic crease on this one.
I really like the brim on this Stetson Brent, it doesn't look modern at all. And that is a compliment to this hat.
That hat is the real deal, Michael. You can see from the pictures how it moves under the fingers when shaping it.
Thanks guys. I creased this one after watching a series of films made in the 30s and I thought the felt was very amenable to the style.Superb, Michael. Love the way how that felt creases.
Another killer Doug.A few cold days here in the Pacific NW. Like Jim, @Frunobulax , I got the day off (from my Holiday Clerk Assistant position), too, because of the National Day of Mourning. A good excuse to take my daughter to lunch!
Double layers of thick cloth and the NW Hat Company pecan fedora from Mike Miller. A great go-to hat for most any day. It started out with a classic center dent, but as many of my hats, it has evolved to a nice diamond crease with sharper lines and tighter pinches.
.
I’d keep em both!!My new to me 50s Stetson 7X Clear Beaver Open Road. I like this hat but I’m not sure I’m going to keep it. The color is very close to my Knox. The last picture shows the two hats side by side. The Knox is on the left.

I would agree & can confirm it is the same liner as in my Wide Country.Sixties Resistol Dalworth. I believe this was the last Byer Rolnick liner.
