Wearing my '50s era 3X Stetson Western conversion again today. It's faded with age and is moderately distressed from years of wear and work. I'm glad that I was able to save this hat and convert it into something different to be worn again. Despite the years of abuse and aging, the felt on this hat is still solid. I was also able to clean up and reuse the hat's 3 ply ribbon and brim binding. It now sports a tall straight crown that's creased to my preferred Teardrop and the brim's been trimmed to 2 5/8 and flanged. There's tons of character in this hat, and as the generous Lounger who gifted it to me said, It has a story to tell.

Faint shadows of the original crease are still, (but barely), visible.

Interesting You Tube video of a similar hat that was posted on another page...

A little bit of Hank today...

"There's a Tear in my Beer", Hank Sr. solo...

"There's a Tear in my Beer" Hank Sr. and Hank Jr. duet...

Two derby day. First was a No Name Hat Co. to a funeral. I was wearing bib-front overalls and a suit jacket (as one does around here).

The jacket was already hanging in the Jeep at this point.

Second was a Dobbs Fifteen to a wedding with a slightly more stringent dress code.

Two nice Bowlers, Bob. And two good choices for the different occasions.

Sorry for the loss for the wearing of the first.

Hope the happy couple live a long and happy life for the wearing of the second.
