Brüder Böhm Wien "Derby" possibly late 1920s early to mid 1930s. Brüder Böhm produced both Wool and Fur Felt Stiff Felts and this one is a Fur Felt. Brüder Böhm who had factories in Vienna, Austria and Neutitschein / Nový Jičín, Czechoslovakia. Great looking Form with a very tight Brim Curl. This Stiff Felt is near NOS condition. I found this Stiff Felt back in 2021.

As always, Steve: the combination of a wonderful antique hat in nearly unworn condition with a useful promotional stand from the same manufacturer is just fantastic and so unmistakably your trademark! I hope you show us many more posts like this!

Matt, Thank you! I will keep them coming until I run out of them. Some aren't in this good of condition. :)

I'm fairly certain that I was wearing my Akubra Banjo Patterson before the encounter with a wasp nest in the ground. It's probably laying in the yard near where I dropped

the yard tools. They'll be retrieved soon.

I was weed whacking and got stung in my upper lip. We're not sure how I avoided getting stung more than that. I have a history of allergic reactions to bee stings. Immediately used my Epi-pen and it had no effect.

Within 30 minutes of being stung, my lip was swollen 4 times larger than normal and it was starting to spread across my face. My wife drove me to the local walk in clinic.

This picture was taken at the walk in clinic about 45 minutes after getting a benadryl shot and a prednisone shot.

This old Wormser makes it into the rotation quite often. It has had many different crown shapes while in my possession. I like it's current bash and it will probably stay this way. Nice color, nice brim curl, sweet brim binding, sassy brim dip in front and a telescoping crown ala Pork Pie'ish.
Looks great Rick! Gives me inspiration for one hat I have that has a telescope crease like that…. But I was never has happy with the brim

Oh no! I was almost right there with you. I was trimming a hedge yesterday evening (in my Borsalino yardwork fedora.. no pic) and I saw some large wasps angrily scurrying out the top. Luckily for me.. I guess they didn‘t pinpoint me as the reason their nest was disturbed. It was getting into the evening so that may have helped… I imagine if it was earlier in the day they’d have gotten after me.

Btw…. I’ve had a couple of occasions with some bee encounters where my hat had to lay right there until things settled down :D

Hope you feel better.

Hmmm.
Wind trolleys might actually be wasp trolleys!
