I recently went to North Carolina for 10 days and hit every antique show I saw around Asheville and Charlotte. A small little shop had a Stetson hat box sitting on the floor with a bunch of stuff sitting on it. Opening the box I found a Borsalino thin ribbon hat just my size in great condition. It also had this little flyer in it. I thought it was pretty interesting.

Inside conditon was 9.8 only 2 small spots on the liner.
I have given up on trying to figure out the age on Borsalinos. That little label they always put under the sweatband has numbers on it that probably mean something, but none of them match for a year or size. I love the label saying the felt is aged 3 years and the body 1. No wonder those oldies are goodies.

About mid 70s the numbers on the paper label contain the production year. Prior to that it gets very difficult. Aprox. mid 50s and earlier have the Borsalino name on the side of the paper label.
