Summer version of the tuxedo hat (satin on the under-brim) was suggested in the ebay thread, but I have no idea.

This is a 50's Knox I found in just about NOS shape at an antique store. It was originally a 6 7/8, stained, dirty, and smelly. I sent it to Aureliano, who was kind enough to resize, reblock, clean, and reflange the brim. It's now in excellent shape, with a slightly lower crown (which actually looks a bit better on me), and the brim isn't warped like how a hat normally looks after being put through a stretcher. Kudos to Aureliano for his excellent work!

The hat appears to be 50's to me, plastic liner tip, and a price tag marked $10. I chose to have it worked on because in it's prior condition, the staining made it unwearable. Aureliano worked some of his magic on it, and removed all of the stains! And a 2-size jump isn't easy, especially when keeping all of the original features.

The best part for me is that the price of the hat (along with a Knox 2-hat box) was $10 for the lot!

Thanks again to Aureliano for his excellent work! Any idea on age? I'm just assuming 50's but I don't know much about Knox.

So I won my first Knox felt on Ebay last week. This is my first Connecticut felt and was made about 20miles from my house. It's a Knox 20 with a Cavanagh Edge The sweat is in great shape. The liner could use some help. The brim is 2 1/2" I had DelMonico's clean and block it in to an open crown. I steamed and creased it myself. The front I raised to 5 1/4" and dropped to 3 7/8" in the back.

As I wrote in the ebay thread the felt feels like clay when you are working it.
Does anyone have an idea as to the age of the hat? I figure early to mid 50's.

I love the color and the weight of the hat. I think it is going to get a lot of wear this season

Knox 20 Westlite

O.P.S. era Westlite. Softer than the Stetson 7XCB with a similar fine finish.
Excellent quality inside and out.

Logo crest is imprinted on the paper liner protector.
