J.B. Sax was foremost gentlemen's store in the city (Ottumwa, IA) through the 1960s. Some of my best ones have his label. I remember riding my bike through the city cemetery and coming across his huge stone memorial. I got off, paid my respects and thanked him...

Fantastic hand-painted (in California, of course,) tie.

Very good find, Tom. So many good ties at once.

My newst acquisition is a 30s brocade tie with dragons. I think the motive would be unusual for germany. No labels though and it was found in a pile of nasty newer ties. So it could be from anywhere. I also found a pair of cufflinks with a chain mechanism. The color is almost matching.

It's hard to tell, but it is a very, very deep green. It's labeled 'California Classic Idyllwild by Hollyvogue' and 'Nelson's Clothiers, Mission, Texas.'

Nice cufflinks. Those chain versions don't show up very often.

Thanks! It's an all-silk Towncraft DeLuxe. Most of the ones that had labels were Towncrafts or Arrows. The top middle one is my favorite, too. It's the reason I bought the lot!
