Nice Open Road sold on Ebay

Hi Folks:
I was watching this auction, and was surprised when it didnt sell initially for 200.00; It went in a hurry though at 175.00 with the free shipping. Anyhow, it looked like an nice example of a 40s-50s OR. I hope a fellow Lounger got it!!

What a difference head size makes. My OR is from the same time period, same box, was even sold from the same store; Striplings! I paid around $70 for my size 7.

So true! I wear a large size, and the nice hats are always expensive.

This Sovereign went for a few bucks more but still in a reasonable price range for a larger size, nice OR style Stetson.

It all depends on who is watching & actively buying. Also, the Sovereign seller would've helped his listing by adding Open Road style to his description headline. IMHO.
